I did the maths.
75 people in Christchurch have been confirmed dead, and it’s expected to rise to about 400.
The New York City equivalent to this would be 1671 confirmed deaths and an expectation of a total of 8911 deaths.
We are such a tiny country, and I hope these numbers will show you how badly we’ve been affected by this disaster.
So, in case you were wondering....
I am fine. House has some minor damage, but we have power. I fell on my wrist so it’s kinda really sore, and all my family are fine. We are thinking about getting out of Christchurch for a bit, but we probably won’t. Those of you out there who don’t know what I’m talking about, watch the news.
